Billy Joe Wilson age 78 of Galax, Va. passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at Waddell Nursing Home. Mr. Wilson was born on February 10, 1930 in Grayson County, Va. to Elmer John & Gertrude Edna Lundy Wilson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Lee Wilson. He is survived by sisters & brothers-in-law Lois & Robert Ramey of Galax, Va.; Carol Bartlett of Burlington, N.C.; Linda & David Morris of Roanoke, Va.; brother & sister-in-law Bobby & Louise Wilson of Fries, Va.; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Meadow Creek Union Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Creek Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
