Billy Mack Phipps age 74 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday August 11, 2021 in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Billy was born on February 12, 1947 in Grayson County, Virginia to Gladon Mack and Mildred Hackler Phipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Phipps.

He is survived by his wife Judy Hackler Phipps of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Tim and Stacy Phipps of Fries, Virginia; Brad Phipps of Max Meadows, Virginia; daughter and son-in-aw Angela and Alan Brisson of Dublin, North Carolina; grandchildren Jacob Phipps; Jordan Phipps; Autumn Brisson and Zeke Phipps; sisters and brother-in-law Linda Haynes of Galax, Virginia; Ella Ruth Liddle of Hillsville, Virginia; Susan and Jerry Gibson of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Doug Stuart officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Oldtown Lodge #68. Burial will follow in the Grubbs Chapel Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to either the Pine Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church Senior Fund, C/O Debbie Anderson, 111 Alderman Street, Galax, Virginia 24333 or to the Grubbs Chapel Cemetery Fund.
