Billy Gene Luper age 77 of Salem, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Luper was born on April 14, 1941 in Fries, Virginia to Eugene Winton and Annie Mae Atkins Luper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Alan Luper

He is survived by his wife Barbara Luper of Salem, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Teresa Ann and Richard Layman of Austinville, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Anthony "Charles" and Cynthia Luper of Magnolia, Texas; daughter-in-law Tammy Luper; five grandchildren Elizabeth Layman; Kattie McCloud; Melinda Lineberry; Josh Luper and A.J. Luper; two great-grandchildren; sister Patsy Wiggins of the Summerfield Community; brothers and sisters-in-law Kyle and Judy Luper of Salem, Virginia; Kenneth Luper and Barbara Lawson of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Anthony Charles Luper officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
