Billy David Jones age 88 of Fries, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Mr. Jones was born in Wythe County, Virginia on July 10, 1923 to Josiah Showalter and Arena Duncan Jones.
He is survived by his wife Ruth L. Jones of Fries, Virginia; children and spouses Diane & Duane Brown; Mary Lee & Don Stoots; Rhonda & J.B. Tolbert; David & Dawn Jones all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Dana & Jason Widner; Billy & Amanda Grubb; Scotty & Leanne Grubb; Mack & Brandi Tolbert; Juliana & Shane Nichols; Ian Jones and Neal Jones; great-grandchildren Kassie Widner; Jacey Widner; Ashlyn Grubb; Brendan Grubb; Cayden Grubb; Joshua Tolbert; Paige Nichols; Teagan Grubb and Paige Briggs; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Rick Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
