Billy Joe Edwards age 94 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the home of his daughter in Radford, Virginia.

Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 21, 1931 to Early Emit and Marie Ella Hanks Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joella Lorraine Bartlett Edwards; sisters Eva Sue Hall and Hazel Dean Nixon.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Regina and Richard Golding of Radford, Virginia; Donna and Eric Lancasater of Richmond, Virginia; brother Frank Edwards of Galax, Virginia; one granddaughter Jessica Blanchard (Darron) of Richmond, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Oakland United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the Oakland United Methodist Church.
