Billy Reed Hanks, age 88, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday November 13, 2021 in Galax Nursing and Rehab Center.

Billy was born on April 15, 1933 in Carroll County, Virginia to Roy and Linnie Farmer Hanks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Blake Hanks; sister Barbara Jean McKenzie; and brother Charles Hanks.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Burcham Hanks of Galax; daughters and sons-in-laws Jennifer and David Pearson of Independence, Teresa Young of Galax; son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Tina Hanks of Galax; stepdaughter and spouse Linda and Gary Manning of Ohio. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law Emily and George Wright of Galax, Beverly and Frank Fredrick of Alexandria, Virginia, Darlene and Michael Mulqueeny of Newport, North Carolina; and brother and sister-in-law David and Kathé Hanks of Galax. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
