Billy Frank Hale age 75 of Christiansburg, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Hale was born on August 29, 1933 in Grayson County, Va. to Eli Sullivan & Sally Carrico Hale. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Ila Patton, Flora Ayers and Belva Shaw; brothers John Boyd Hale and Gene Hale.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Elsie Edwards Hale; sons & daughter-in-law Jeffrey Nathan Hale of Mooresville, N.C.; Gary Lyndon & Jennifer Marie Vance Hale of Great Falls, Va.; brothers Herman Hale, Charlie Hale, Elmer Hale and Harry Dean Hale all of Galax, Va.; grandchildren & spouse Rachel Hale Layfield & Weston; Brittany Eitel Hale; Audrey Ila Hale; Nathanael Eli Hale; James Patrick Hale; Rebekah Ann Hale; Thomas Sullivan Hale; Kathryn Joyce Hale; Margaret Claire Hale; Anna Marie Hale; Brigid Rose Hale and Samuel Richard Hale; one great-grandchild Wyatt Scott Layfield; several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Timothy Hight officiating. Burial will be private for the family. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral
