Billie Joe Ayers age 94 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday June 6, 2025 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Ayers was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 5, 1931 to Wesley Fonzo and Nellie Mary Bowers Ayers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Stella Ruth Lineberry Ayers and his daughter Elizabeth Ann Duncan.

He is survived by four grandchildren Jennifer Ayers of Williamsburg, Virginia; Chasity Wright and Czonka Testerman both of Galax, Virginia; Roger Bobbitt of Independence, Virginia;  a brother-in-law Danny Lineberry; sister-in-law Janie Criner both of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one nephew Roger Thomason and one niece Debbie Frost both of Galax, Virginia.

A private service will be held for the family.
