Bill Mason Adkins age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Adkins was born in Carroll County, Virginia on December 19, 1929 to James Payton & Cora Manus Adkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mattie Lee Winesett Adkins.
He is surived by his sons & daughters-in-law Gary & Patty Adkins; Greg & Terri Adkins all of Galax, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Jessie Wilson of Tampa, Florida; Margaret Dale & Pete Moore of Lexington, Kentucky; brother & sister-in-law Glenn & Mattie Adkins of Martinsville, Va.; three grandsons Travis Adkins; Ryan Adkins and Evan Adkins; sister-in-law Mavis Adkins of Galax, Va.; several nieces & nephews; lifetime friend Joe Jarrell of Mt. Airy, N.C..
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:00 am in Felts Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:45 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
