Betty Joanne Wilson of Galax, Va. passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006 in Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born in Galax, Va. to the late Adam Dempsey and Naomi Ruth Caudill Petty.She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Stowell of Saganaw, Michigan; her sisters & brothers-in-law, Helen & Ray Alley of Independence, Va.; Estelle Spencer of Galax, Va.; Loretta & Edwin Evans of Galax, Va.; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Alton & Karin Petty; Wade & Katie Petty all of Galax, Va; grandsons, Andrew Dylan Stowell; Eric Jordan Stowell and Hunter Samuel Thompson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 21, 2006 at 6:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Camet Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Alleghany Co., North Carolina. The family will receive friends Friday from five until six at the funeral home.
