Betty Sue Ward Perdue age 98 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Baptist Healthcare Center in Lenoir City, Tennessee.
Mrs. Perdue was born in Galax, Virginia on August 15, 1916 to Joseph Kinley and Rosamond Higgins Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hobert Perdue.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ann Perdue and David Duggins of Matthews, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Hobert and Mary Ann Perdue, Jr. of Lenoir City, Tennessee; grandchildren and spouses Mitchell Perdue, Angela and Joe Todd, Allison and Jimmy Robles; Stephanie Perdue; five great-grandchildren; sister Hattie Collins of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Oakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Smith and the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
