Betty Sayers, 81, of Roanoke, VA (and formerly from Wythe County) lovingly known as "Flo" went home to Heaven Sunday, December 27, 2015. "Flo" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great –grandmother. She was born July 12, 1934 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Neal Alvin and Maggie Akers Vaughan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Sayers.
She is survived by children: Debbie Glass, Terry (Steve) Minnix; Tammy (Danny) Dillon all of Roanoke; grandchildren: Amanda (Waymond) Reed, Stephanie (Jerry) Orange, Tommy Miller, Jr., Jared Holland, Brandi Holland, Danielle Dillon, Drew Dillon; great grandchildren: Kayla Guthrie, Cody Orange, Jarrett Dunbar, Liam Naginey; sisters: Louise Asbury & Lois Young of Fries; brothers Doug Vaughan of Fries, Ray Vaughan and wife Brenda of Vinton; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Mount Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until time for the service at the church.
