Betty Jane Williams Shaffner age 85 of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday January 7, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Shaffner was born in Carroll County, Virginia on October 31, 1936 to Delbert Clarion and Virginia Elizabeth Patton Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ira Patterson Shaffner; grandson Brad Shaffner and brother George Williams.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Melissa and Todd Dickson of Statesville, North Carolina; Drema and Chris Morton of Independence, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Steven and Janie Shaffner of Fries, Virginia; Tony Shaffner of Elk Creek, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Geoffrey and Holly Shaffner; Chad Shaffner; Tracie and Jacob Vaughan; Zach and Lauren Dickson; Colt Dickson; Irelyn Morton; granddaughter-in-law Casey Shaffner; great-grandchildren Kacie Shaffner; Anna Vaughan; Andrew Shaffner; Ayla Vaughan; Allie Vaughan; Easton Shaffner; Karsyn Shaffner; Charleigh Shaffner; Jack Dickson; Grayson Shaffner and Hayden Dickson; Carter Dickson; sister Wanda Dowling of Fries Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend and caregiver Carolyn Byrd;  special neighbors Gerald and Judy Anders, the Robbie Isom Family; the dedicated Home Health workers; special family friend Lori Dudley and her special church family.

To fulfill the wishes of Mrs. Shaffner her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
