Betty Ruth Peake age 80 of Waynesboro, Virginia and formerly of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 16th in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Peake was born on October 17, 1943 in Grayson County, Virginia to Abner Joshua and Sue Emma Barton Peake. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters Louise Rowe; Ilene Davis; Jane Neil and Carol Day.

She is survived by sisters and brother-in-law Wanda Sue Vaughan of Chesapeake, Virginia; Joyce and Arlie Goad of Waynesboro, Virginia; Barbara Ann Patton of Troy, Ohio; Patricia Shifflett of Waynesboro, Virginia; beloved nephew Mickey Rowe; many nieces and nephews; devoted friend Barbara Sue Willie Wright.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ricky Bedwell officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 10th from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
