Betty Joyce Oakley,age 71, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007, at the Golden Living Center(Beverly Blue Ridge)in Galax, VA. She was born May 8, 1936 in Stockes County, North Carolina to Grover & Ruby Williamson Key.

She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law Nancy & James Williams, Lexington, NC; Judy Hash, Troutdale; Karen & R. J.Halsey, Galax; Sharon & Thomas Sheets of Woodlawn; Christina & Jason Petty of Austinville; one son & daughter-in-law: Jimmy & Sherry Oakley of Galax. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Elbert Oakley, parents Grover & Ruby Oakley; and a son-in-law: Ted Hash.

The family will reeive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 9 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan Guynn Chapel with REv. Garry Adams, Rev. Glenn Burcham, and Chuck Edwards. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery, Galax.
The family will be at the home of Karen Halsey on Pipers Gap Road, Galax, VA.
