Betty Lou Melton age 83 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mrs. Melton was born in Grayson County, Virginia on December 15, 1935 to Wayne and Susie Tester Summers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Melton, son Ted Ray Melton and two brothers Gayle Summers and Bryan Summers.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Donald and Glenda Melton; Terry and Kelly Melton all of Galax, Virginia; Randall and Cindy Melton of Hillsville, Virginia; three grandchildren and spouse Jessica Melton of Galax, Virginia; Lindsey and Josh Cockerham of Woodlawn, Virginia ; Matthew Melton of Hillsville, Virginia and Jacob Melton of Galax, Virginia ; three great-grandchildren; sister Etta Billings of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law Helen Summers of Manassas, Virginia; Anna Melton of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Cranberry with Brother Max Combs officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
