Betty Louise Funk Leonard age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Betty was born on July 22, 1944 in Grayson County, Virginia to Charles Irie and Thursey Alice Patton Funk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Jackson Leonard and sister Kathleen Funk Hudson.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Eldon D. and Deborah Edmonds of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Patricia Leonard of Galax, Virginia; Jimmy and Linda Leonard of Fries, Virginia; John and Melissa Leonard of Hillsville, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Brandi and Mack Tolbert; Alisha Leonard; Alexis Leonard; Arista Leonard; Brandon Leonard; Justin Leonard; great-grandchild Joshua Maddox Tolbert; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Cliffview Church of God with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Leonard Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Cliffview Church of God.
