Betty Burnett Grubb, age 81. of Galax, VA, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.

Mrs. Grubb was born June 12, 1935 in Woodlawn, VA to Richard Fred & Virginia Elizabeth Reynolds Burnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry G. Grubb.

She is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Judy Wright, Galax, VA, Lynn Howe & Eagle, Hickory, NC, Ann Bunn & Bobby, Woodlawn, VA; son, Richard Redd, Galax, VA; sister, Barbara Ann Thompson, Galax, VA; brothers, Gene Burnett, Greensboro, NC, Claude Burnett, Galax, VA; Step-daughters and husbands, Kaye Sylvester & Don, Conneticut, Connie Reveal & Larry, Chesapeake, VA, Linda Ames & Adrian, Chesapeake, VA, Anne Wheeler & Harold, Fancy Gap, VA; very special friend, Edwin Sizemore; special caregiver, Melanie Burcham; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, three step-great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held, Thursday, Aug, 4, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA with Pastor Terri Gregory; and Rev. Dina L. Clower. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home, Thursday, from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service.
