Betty Ruth Sawyers Dixon age 71 of Fries, Va. passed away Monday November 27, 2006 at her home. She was born on August 6,1935 in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Ernest Bowman & Mary Opal Davis Sawyers. She is survived be her husband Clayton O. Dixon of Fries, Va.; daughters & son-in law Dama Lynn Sumner of Galax, Va.; Dianne & Ernest Davis of Fries, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Donnie L. & Barbara J. Dixon of Galax, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Evelyn Lineberry Spears; Pat & Gayle Frazier all of Galax, Va.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday November 29, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Garry Adams, Rev. Eddie Bailey & Elder Chauncey Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
