Betty Ruth Fender Burcham age 76 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Burcham was born on July 30, 1934 in Sparta, North Carolina to Lundy and Maggie Adams Fender. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Otis Burcham; sisters Ophelia Vest and Evelyn Gilliam; brothers George Fender, Elmer Fender and Jess Fender.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Marion "Jack" Lawson, Jr. of Max Meadows, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Adam Lawson, Shannon and Yami Lawson,Jackson Lawson and Jacklyn Lawson; sisters and brother-in-law Grace Fender of Sparta, North Carolina; Coralee Cobbler of Kernersville, North Carolina; Clyde and Clive Edwards of Ennice, North Carolina; brother Lewis Fender of Fries, Va.; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and spouses Melba and Clifford Lineberry; Novella and Gerald Coleman; Joyce Isom; Shirley and Roy Hill, Jr. all of Fries, Virginia; brothers-in-law and spouses Rex and Lowanna Burcham; Lonnie and Betty Burcham all of Fries, Virginia; Gary and Vanessa Burcham of Fredericksburg, Virginia; special friends Brenda, Chip and Martin Fender.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the churh cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 o'clock noon until service time at the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church.
