Betty Ruth Isom Bowman, age 71, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax. VA. Mrs. Bowman was the widow of Donald Bowman and a resident of the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.

She was born April 19,1939 in Galax, VA to Jack & Emma Ring Isom and is survived by one son, Donnie Bowman, Galax, sister & brother-in-law, Pauline & Edgar Jones, Galax, sisters-in-law, Thelma Bunn, Hillsville, VA, Barbara Whittensoldner, Hartville, OH, Velda Jones, Austinville, VA, Margie Byrd & spouse, Clifford of High Point, NC, Betty Stamper, Austinville, VA, Clara Bowman, Akron, Ohio, brothers-in-law and spouses, Junior Paul & Betty Bowman, Galax, Charles & Reva Bowman, Austinville, VA, J.D. & Elza Bowman, Cana, Ronald Bowman , Austinville, and Tom & Judy Bowman, Austinville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery, Galax, VA. The officiating ministers will be the Rev. Eddie Bailey and The Rev. Roger Frost. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA.
