Betty Mae Alley age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday December 17, 2021 at the home of her son in Woodlawn, Virginia.

Mrs. Alley was born in Fries, Virginia on June 14, 1934 to George and Lillie Bond Haga. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Burton Alley and siblings Beatrice Akers, JoAnn Brewer, Bobby Haga and Ralph Haga.

She is survived by her daughters Kathy Davis and Joyce Alley both of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law David and Mildred Alley of Woodlawn, Virginia; Terry and Rachel Davis of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Mickey and Melissa Alley of Galax, Virginia; sister Evelyn Carter of Martinsville, Virginia; nine grandchildren Misty Shaw,  Laura Jamroz, Brandon Alley, Chris Alley, Kayla Grubb, Chasity Vaughan, Payton Alley, Mary Troy and Curtis Troy; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Fries, Virginia. There will be no visitation.
