Bessie Hill Lineberry age 98 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Golden Living Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Galax, Virginia.
Born on November 18, 1914 in Fries, Virginia, she was the daughter of Steven and Bell Hill. Bessie lived in the Fries area most of her life where she was a homemaker, an in-home care provider, and retiree of the Washington Mills Textiles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband (married 60 years) Heath Montique Lineberry; children Maynard Lewis Lineberry, Betty Berthadale Grubb, Henry Harrison Lineberry, Leonard Ray Lineberry and Ralph Eugene Lineberry; grandchildren Jerry Lee Lineberry, David Wayne Grubb and Baby Infant Grubb; sisters Pearly Faulkner and Cora Della Shaffner and brother Andy Hill.
She is survived by her children and spouses Shirley Jane Swinney and Clyde of Fries, Virginia; Carroll O'Neal Lineberry, Sr. and Peggy of Galax, Virginia; Marshall J.D. Lineberry, Sr. and Betty of Pulaski, Virginia; Billy Dean Lineberry and Paula of Pulaski, Virginia; Linda Sue Newman and Jeffrey of Crockett, Virginia; seventeen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; life long friend Iva Vaughan.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Burial
will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
