Bertie Farmer Kinzer Houtz age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Va.. Mrs. Houtz was born in Grayson County, Va. on February 4, 1920 to Lewis F. & Ossie Connoy Farmer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Larry "Chick" Kinzer and Vernon Dale Houtz. She is survived by her daughters Joyce & Lee Wilson of Roanoke, Va.; Phyllis & Larry Houtz of Galax, Va.; Michele & Eric Dahlquist of Houston, Texas; son & daughter-in-law Bob & Julie Houtz of Orlando, Florida; sister Nell Richardson of Galax, Va.; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ty Harrison officiating.
