Bertie Jane Caviness age 76 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born on February 1, 1930 in Carroll County, Va. to the late John B. and Sibbie Cornelia Lawson Edwards. She is survived by her husband, Joe Caviness; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vanessa & Doug Dancy; Tessa & Ervin Gibson all of Galax, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis & Ila Mabe of Elk Creek, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenna & Bob Warf of Columbia, South Carolina; and Mary Ruth & Johnny Severance of Roanoke, Va.. Three grandchildren also survive. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 30th at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bill Ring officiating. Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
