Bertha Anderson Hill, 98, of Fries, Virginia passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Hill was born in Wythe County on July 13, 1920 to the late William and Maggie Jonas Anderson and was a graduate of Speedwell High School.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Yvonne and David Harris of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Horace (Gus) and Linda Hill and James Hill and fiancé Bonnie Murray all of Galax, Virginia; step daughters Shirley Reid of Macon, Georgia and Betty Burcham of Fries, Virginia; special friends Kathy and Larry Fowler; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren; and many special caregivers.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Wilson and Rev. Darrell Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Monta-Vista Cemetery in Galax, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 18 at Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church.
