Benny Gene Carper age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Carper was born in Pulaski, Virginia on February 7, 1937 to the late Leonard and Ann Waterhouse Carper.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Carper of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Cathy Kellis of Burlington, North Carolina; Susan and Anthony Oliver of Leighton, Alabama; Cynthia ad Earl Coolman of Hinesville, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law Tony and Rhonda Carper; Donnie Carper all of Galax, Virginia; ten grandchildren Jeremy Carper; Shane Carper; Ashley Langford, Justin Bolen, Amanda Money, Ethan Blevins; Cameron Carper; Caitlin Wolford;  Patrick Carper and Isaac Carper; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor John Leek officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
