Ben D. Carico age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Carico was born on August 20, 1920 in Grayson County, Virginia to
Wiley and Hallie Byrd Carico. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Violet Mae Carico and grandson Kerry Cole.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Twila and Roscoe Billings of Galax, Virginia; Lynn and James Baldwin of King, North Carolina; Sue and James Collins of Fries, Virginia; Novelle McPeak of Roanoke, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Barbara Carico of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Tammy and David Willard; Jeanette and Randy Triplett; Eugene and Meldy Huffman; Joanie and Shane Cochran; Timmy and Lisa Cole; Robert Cole; Tony; Mark; Darrell and Heidi Cole; seventeen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 4:30 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Tommy Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek U.M. Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 PM until time for the funeral service at the funeral home.
