Belva Jean Hancock

Belva Jean Hancock age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, October 30, 2026 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Belva was born on June 14, 1944 in Pulaski, Virginia to Garnett Edgar and Eula Virtie Akers Hancock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Linda Grubb and brothers Harold Hancock and Jimmy Hancock.

She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law Juanita Marlow of Galax, Virginia; Mary Mitchell; Stella Pierce; Lorene Nichols; Ruth and Tim Hollifield; brothers and sister-in-law Fred and Pam Hancock; Bobby Hancock all of Lexington, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home followed with burial at 11:30 AM in the Fries Cemetery. The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness with Elder James Reyes officiating.
