Beatrice May Noyes Yakem age 94 of Independence, Virginia passed away Monday, March25, 2019 in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Mrs. Yakem was born on May 7, 1924 in Oswego, New York to William and Eliza Godden Noyes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Yakem, Jr..

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and William Glover of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren and spouses John and Randi Glover of Fries, Virginia; Vanessa and Dereck Galyean of Independence ,Virginia; three great-grandchildren Viktoriya Jennings; Jaxon Glover and Liam Galyean; five sisters Elenor Lund; Betty Dashnau; Louise Himes; Donna Brouse and Vivian Verdow all of New York; brother Kenneth Noyes of Texas; two special nephews George Hartung and Ronald Dujack; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Yakem's body will be shipped to Monessen, Pennsylvania where the funeral service and burial will be held.
