Barry Allan Newman age 54 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 in the Woltz Hospice Home.

Barry was born on August 3, 1971 in Galax, Virginia to Everett Elwood Newman, Jr. and Ada Jean Choate Newman.

He is survived by his wife Tonia Newman of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Whitney and Cody Sumner of Troutdale, Virginia;  Laken and Levi Newman of Independence, Virginia; Trenton Newman of Galax, Virginia; mother and step-father Ada Jean and Warren Baird; step-mother Mary Newman; brother and sister-in-law Jason and Joanie Newman of Galax, Virginia; step-sisters and spouses Freedom and David Leath; Summer and Jamie Brewer; Heidi Rodriguez all of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Wesley Sumner; Wyatt Sumner; Cora Sumner; Baby Newman ; several nieces and nephews; Tonia's Family and many special friends.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 PM in the Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Haga and Jodi Poole officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Bible Baptist Church. Interment will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the Hope House or God's Storehouse.
