Barry Gleaves Brown, Sr. age 52 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Wednesday in the Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Barry was born in Galax, Virginia on December 15, 1968 to Terry and Brenda Jane Williams Brown.

Barry had honors at the Police Academy. He started working at Hanes when he was 17 years old and retired as a mechanic after 33 years of service.

He is survived by his wife Sandy Brown of Woodlawn, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Barry and Shana Brown, Jr. of the Baywood Community; Nathan McMillan of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; daughter Jenny Rector of Fries, Virginia; father and step-mother Terry and Mary Brown of Galax, Virginia; seven grandchildren Raylan Brown; Rylee Brown; Caleb McMillan; Josslyn McMillan; Tyler McMillan; Austin Linville (Jordan Adams) and Payton Livnille; brother and sister -in-law Bryan and Missy Brown of Dugspur, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special friends John Houk and Mike Jones.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 5:00 PM in The Rock Worship Center with Chuck Edwards and Bryan Horton officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 PM until time for the service at The Rock Worship Center.
