Barbara Joan Shepherd's Obituary
Barbara Joan Ward Shepherd age 68 of Hillsville, Virginia passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 in the Forsyth Medical Center Specialty Hospital.
Barbara was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 24, 1945 to Walter and Lola Amburn Ward.
Barbara was followed in death by her daughter Angela Shackelford of High Point, North Carolina on Tuesday.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David C. and Jeannette Shepherd of Thomasville, North Carolina; son-in-law Steve Shackelford of High Point, North Carolina; granddaughter Lauren Shepherd; mother Lola Amburn Ward of Hillsville, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law June and Glen Akers of Hillsville, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Carroll and Nancy Ward of Statesville, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
