Barbara Janet Melton Webb Smith age 74 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Janet was born on April 13, 1944 in Carroll County, Virginia to Otho and Melissa Lousia Horton Melton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Aylor Webb and "Buddy" Smith and a sister Shirley Harrison.

She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law Colene Larrowe of Woodlawn, Virginia; Sylvia and Richard Reeves of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Wanda Melton of Woodlawn, Virginia; Joe and Charlene Melton of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; many special nieces and nephews; and her dog Buster.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Ronny Harrison and the Rev. Tim Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
