Barbara Rosemary Mason age 81 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Mason was born on May 14, 1936 in Fries, Virginia to Edwin and Willie Blanche Mason Habeck. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Mason; children Yvette Spencer and Ray Mason; brothers Walter, Lee and George Habeck.

She is survived by her children Carl and Margaret Mason; Frank Mason; Kathy and Gerald Cox all of Galax, Virginia; Crystal and Danny Blankenship of Hillsville, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Heather Walls; J.J. and Monica Payne; Cody Truitt; Steven and Heather Mason; Abigail Blankenship; Jerry and Jennifer Mason; Melissa and Srdjan Velickovic; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver Roger Caudell; special friend Margaret Brewer; grandson-in-law Jason Walls; her special pet Willie.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 6:30 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Myron Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Burial will be private for the family.
