Barbara Jean Poole, 58, of Low Gap, North Carolina passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. She was born March 13, 1950 to Harry Nelson & Frances Parks Edmonds in Galax, VA. Barbara was preceded in death by her father Harry Nelson Edmonds.

Barbara is survived by her husband Ronald Dean Poole of the home; daughter & son-in-law Sharon Paulette Atkins and Denny of Hillsville, VA; sons & daughters-in-law: Ronald Nelson Poole & Wendy of Low Gap, NC and Jimmy Deal Poole & April of Mt. Airy, NC; a step son: Ronald Dean Todd of Ennice, NC; mother Frances Edmonds of Galax, VA; a sister and brother-in-law Patsy Smith & Larry of Galax; brother & sister-in-law: Jimmy Edmonds and Denise of Galax. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Jacob Poole, Seth Atkins, Austin Atkins, Miranda Poole, Kayla Rector, Kendrick Hawks, Chris Todd, Megan Todd, and Sami Todd; a great grandchild Keegan Blevins.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6pm until 9pm at the Fairview Baptist Church, Galax, VA. The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 PM at the church with the Rev. Sam Holder and Rev. Bill Spurlin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
