Barbara Ann Hodges Harrison age 79, of Richmond, VA., passed away Monday June 17, 2013.

She was born on July 26, 1933 in Wythe County, the daughter of the late Robert L and Ida Smith Hodges of Fries VA. She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Hodges and sister Faye Hodges Brown. Barbara retired from Reynolds Metal in Richmond, VA after greater than 30 years of service.


She is survived by her son Robert Harrison and his wife Diane of Grovetown, GA, granddaughter Chelsea Harrison of Grovetown, GA., grandsons Dustin and Kyle Harrison of Manchester, CT., Brother Don Hodges of Fries ,VA. Nieces Beth Marinus of Wytheville, VA., Katerina Blair and husband Tim of Ivanhoe,VA, Nephews, Bob Brown of Bristol, RI., Chuck Hodges and wife Robin of Peachtree City, GA., Ronnie Hodges and wife Debbie of Galax, VA, Donald Ray Hodges of Ivanhoe, VA. Many great nieces and nephews survive. A host of many loving friends in Richmond, VA who were her family there.


Barbara loved gardening and maintained a beautiful yard with many flowers. She had a passion for collecting costume and vintage jewelry, along with antiques. She loved dancing, bowling and playing Bingo. She enjoyed life and always had a smile and a good joke for everyone.


A visitation was held in Richmond, VA at Bliley's Funeral Chapel June 19, 2013 for her friends there. Interment and graveside services will be held Friday June 21 at 2:00 pm at Mt Hope Church Cemetery Fries, VA with Pastor Donn Sunshine officiating.
