Barbara Susan Freeman's Obituary
Barbara Susan Freeman age 89 of Fries, Va. passed away Monday, July 6,2009 at her home.
Mrs. Freeman was born on January 3,1920 in Grayson County, Va. to Eli Richard & Florence Porter Shupe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Freeman and daughter Vickie Lynn Funk.
She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Joyce & Ernie Funk; Faye & Charles Spraker all of Fries, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law Darrell & Phyllis Freeman; Mike & Delores Freeman; Gary Freeman all of Fries, Va.; stepson & wife Howard & Hazel Anders of Winston-Salem, N.C.; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; special niece Bonnie Funk; special friends Pauline Brooms and Tildy Harris.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Atkins Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tony Vaughan officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Friends may call anytime at the home on 207 Broom Lane, Fries, Va.. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Atkins Memorial Cemetery Fund or the Fries Fire Department.
