Avis Wanda Bowers Edwards Gravely age 73 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday May 11, 2022 at her home.

Avis was born in Carroll County, Virginia on December 18, 1948 to Avery and Laura Riggins Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Bobby Gene Edwards and a brother James Hanks.

She is survived by her husband Kern Gravely of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Steve and Cindy Edwards of Galax, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Tammy and Joey Herrington of Kernersville, North Carolina; Shannon Hauslohner of Pulaski Virginia; Kristy Gravely of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina;   grandchildren and spouse Ethan Edwards; Sarah and Jimmy Moux; Taylor Herrington; Haley Gravely;  Wesley Gravely; Annabelle Hauslohner; Ransom Hauslohner; great-grandchildren Morgan Edwards and Hazel Cave; sister Sue Smith of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters- in-law Sonny Bowers of Galax, Virginia; Eugene and Mary Bowers of Barren Springs, Virginia; Cecil and Laura Bowers; Doug and Nancy Bowers all of Max Meadows, Virginia; Curtis and Mary Bowers of Christiansburg, Virginia; Dave and Angie Bowers of Hickory, North Carolina; mother-in-law Ethel Gravely of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Pam White of Pulaski, Virginia; brother-in-law and wife Mark and Sheila Gravely of Elk Creek, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Baptist Church with Matthew Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Camp Zion Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
