August Oteil Reavis, 25, took flight with the angels on December 31, 2023. He was born in Galax, Virginia on August 27, 1998 to Brian Hardin Reavis and Tonya Ayers Reavis.

He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Bonnie Ayers of Galax, VA; paternal grandmother, Rachel Reavis of Galax, VA; uncles & aunts, John and Brandy Ayers of Woodlawn, VA, Mike and Shannon Brown of Woodlawn, VA, Alan Hicks of Galax, VA, Stefanie Boers of Gaithersburg, MD and Darlene Wells of Christiansburg, VA; and a very special group of friends at Creek Bottom Brewing as well as his beloved family dog Stella.

He was preceded in death by a special aunt, Vicki Hicks; maternal grandfather, Johnny Ayers and paternal grandfather, Hardin Reavis.

August was a very talented chef and artist. He was also a wizard at Jeopardy. His hobbies included movies, multi-genre music and he was an avid sports fan. His presence will truly be missed in this world.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Richard Gregory officiating.  Interment will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the funeral home. The family will gather at Creek Bottom Brewery after the service.
