Attaree Greene Evans Choate age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center in Independence, Virginia.

Mrs. Choate was born in Alleghany County, North Carolina on April 6, 1930 to Lester and Mallie Tompkins Greene. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Ernest Evans and Earl Choate; sisters Reva Wilson, Cleta Moxley, Zelma Poole and Thelma Vaughn; brothers Ray Greene and Dale Greene.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Sandy and Terry Moser; Pat Hunt all of Ennice, North Carolina; Sheila and Allan Mayberry of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Mickie Evans of Ennice, North Carolina; Terry and Teresa Evans of Galax, Virginia; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Brian Galyean; the Rev. Eddie Wooten; Elder Pete Hawks and Harold Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
