Archie Ray Newman age 76 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mr. Newman was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 6, 1937 to Clifford and Etta Lineberry Newman.

He is survived by his wife Rosa Lee Newman of Galax, Virginia; daughter Tammy Newman of Woodlawn, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Billy Ray and Wanda Newman; Garry Newman all of Galax, Virginia; Ronnie Newman of Woodlawn, Virginia; six grandchildren Kristie, Cavin, David, Kandace, Taylor and Lucas; five great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Juanita Burnette, Almeta Frazier, Rosella Lundy all of Galax, Virginia; Delsie Farmer of Hillsville, Virginia; Guida (Dee) Griffin of Canton, Ohio; Ethelene Bryant of Woodlawn, Virginia; Alpha Jean Newman of Burgaw, North Carolina; Annadean and Robert Loville of Mt Airy, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law J.C. and Magalene Newman; Joe and Audrey Newman all of Woodlawn, Virginia; Wallace and Geraldean Newman of Granite Falls, North Carolina; Wayne Newman of Dobson, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ronny Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmon-Lineberry-Robinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
