Anna Virginia Shaffer age 68 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at her home.

Anna was born on September 18, 1945 in Forest Hill, Maryland to Elwood and Beulah Temple Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Shaffer.

She is survived by her children and their spouse Judy and Dennis Tilley; Roy Lee Shaffer, Jr. and James Martin "Jamie" Shaffer all of Galax, Virginia; seven grandchildren Al Meyer; Chris Meyer; Andrew Shaffer; Brittany Wilson; Travis Shaffer; Ethan Tilley and Alley Cat Shaffer; four great-grandchildren Arieanna Meyer; Joshua Meyer; Bobby Shaffer and James Meyer; siblings and spouses Katie Hemling of Summerfield, Pennsylvania; Elwood and Janie Martin, Jr. of Clinton, Kentucky; Bessie and Bill Martin of Colora, Maryland; James and Teresa Martin of Level, Maryland; Gerald Martin of Havre De Grace, Maryland; Benjamin and Debra Martin of North East, Maryland; Joseph and Janet Martin of Havre De Grace, Maryland; Esther and Charles Braden of Summerfield, Florida; Robert and Carol Martin of Darlington, Maryland; Gordon and Hazel Martin of Havre De Grace, Maryland; Mary and Billy Whitt of Colora, Maryland; Debbie and Ken Hutchens of Havre De Grace, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; many special friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
