Andy Richard Hodges age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Hodges was born on May 30, 1933 in Grayson County, Virginia to James Arnold and Elsie Burcham Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Roger Dale Hodges.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Andrea Hodges of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Donald Andrew and Ann Hodges of Fries, Virginia; Ronald Keith Hodges of Galax, Virginia; sisters Verna Mae Carico and Lynda Fortner both of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law James Norwood and Joy Hodges of Talbott, Tennessee; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM in the Mt. Vale Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Lindquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vale Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the Mt. Vale Methodist Church.
