Alvin Lewis Bilbrey age 79 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Bilbrey was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 12, 1936 to Hershel and Joyce Sumner Bilbrey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son David Alvin Bilbrey.

He is survived by a daughter and her companion Anita B. Armbrister and Frank Rogers of Fries, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Cynthia Jo and Casey Smith of Rural Retreat, Virginia; Lisa Evon Richardson of Reidsville, North Carolina; Mary Bilbrey of Fries, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law James Lewis and Aileen Bilbrey of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Jerry Edwards of Independence, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Wilburn and Ellen Bilbrey of Fries, Virginia; Harry and Peggy Bilbrey; Garold and Belinda Bilbrey; Junior Bilbrey all of Galax, Virginia; Ravin Bilbrey of Independence, Virginia; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to assist with the funeral services.
