Alta Lee Surratt Weddle age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Weddle was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 28, 1935 to Marvin and Myrta Alderman Surratt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Alexander Weddle.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Cathy Weddle Minor of Clemmons, North Carolina; Lorna  and Weldon Utt of Fancy Gap, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Joseph Paul and Sharon Weddle; Charles David and Linda Weddle all of Galax, Virginia; Bobby Dale Weddle of Woodlawn, Virginia; Scotty Dean and Tina Weddle of Wytheville, Virginia; Michael Webb of Chester, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Marlin and Mary Surratt of Hillsville, Virginia; Glenn and Terri Sirratt of Woodlawn, Virginia; seven grandchildren Angela Minor Richards of Clemmons North Carolina; Melissa Grimes of Asheville, North Carolina; Brandon Weddle of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Jeremy Weddle of Woodlawn, Virginia; Christopher Weddle of Hillsville, Virginia; Kayla Weddle of Marion, Virginia; Ashton Weddle of Hillsville, Virginia; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
