Alpha Belle Stuart Slate age 57 of Hillsville, Va. passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C..
Alpha was born on April 4, 1952 in Grayson County, Va. to James Frederick and Orpha Janie Vaughan Stuart.
She is survived by her husband Gary Slate of Hillsville, Va.; daughter Stacy Slate of Galax, Va.; son Gregory Slate of Hillsville, Va.; sister Freda Sexton of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; brothers Randy Stuart of Seattle, Washington; Larry Stuart of Georgia; Ricky Stuart of Galax, Va.; four grandchildren; sister-in-law Jenene Stuart; brother-in-law Jim Sexton; several nieces & nephews; one great-niece.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rick Lindamood officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
