Almeta Newman Frazier age 91 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Frazier was born in Carroll County, Virginia on October 11, 1925 to Clifford and Etta Lineberry Newman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Louis Frazier and two brothers Arlie Newman and Archie Ray Newman.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Donald R. and Julia Frazier; son and special friend David L. Frazier and Janet Harris all of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren Mitzi Frazier and Tony Frazier; great-grandchildren Matthew and Elaina Frazier; Jacob Frazier; great-great-granddaughter Haylen Frazier; siblings and spouses Juanita Burnette of Galax, Virginia; Rosella Lundy of Galax, Virginia; Delsie Farmer of Hillsville, Virginia; Guida (Dee) Griffin of Canton, Ohio; Ethelene Bryant of Woodlawn, Virginia; Alpha Jean Newman of Barber, North Carolina; Annadean and Robert Loville of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; J.C. and Magalene Newman of Woodlawn, Virginia; Wallace and Geraldean Newman of Granite Falls, North Carolina; Joe and Audrey Newman of Woodlawn, Virginia; Wayne Newman of Mt Airy, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Galax Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Titus Anderson and Pastor Doug Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time for the funeral service at the Galax Church of God of Prophecy.
