Alma Jean Sawyers Crouse age 92 of Thomasville, North Carolina, formerly of Galax, Va. passed away  into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Hospice of the  Piedmont.

Mrs. Crouse was born in Galax, Virginia on January 22, 1926 to Andrew Lee and Melinda Bryant Dotson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands  Glenn A. Sawyers and Robert Crouse and her son Ervin Sawyers.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Joyce and Ron Michaelis of Thomasville, N.C.; June Shores of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren and spouses Robin and Rob Bowen of Salem. Va.; David and Candace Michaelis of Thomasville, N.C.; Adam and Kelly Shores of Salem, Va.; great-grandchildren Brianna and Alyssa Michaelis of Thomasville, N.C.; Cole and Kailer Bowen of Salem, Va.; Abby and Clark Shores of Salem, Va.; sister Rosalee Crouse of Galax, Va.; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Independence, Va. with the Rev. Charles Bunn officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
