Alma Moore Poe age 89 of Galax, Va. passed away Friday, March 2, 2007 in Beverly Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born in Carroll County, Va. on September 12, 1917 to the late Martin & Callie Faddis Moore. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Mack Poe. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Ruth Ann & Ben Gibson III of Richmond, Va.; son John Moore Poe of Abingdon, Va. and one grandson.The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM in West Galax United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Carrico officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
